Information That May Be Collected
Information can arrive in several ways. Search terms entered in a sponsored search box are sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Messages voluntarily sent through a contact channel may include a name, email address, and message text. Servers and service providers can automatically record technical data, such as IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages visited, and the time of access. Cookies or similar storage may remember preferences, support analytics, measure advertising, and help the site function.
How Information Is Used
Collected data may be used to operate and protect the site, answer messages, understand which pages work well, detect abuse, correct technical faults, and improve navigation. It may also support advertising measurement and the delivery of sponsored search features. Personal information is not used to create an official Sunflower County custody or court record, and this site does not control records held by the sheriff, MDOC, courts, BOP, or ICE.
Cookies and Measurement Tools
Cookies are small files stored through a browser. They can keep a preference, count a visit, or help an analytics or advertising service recognize a browser over time. Browser settings may block or remove cookies, although doing so can affect site features. Outside analytics and ad networks may use their own cookies or comparable technology under their own privacy terms.
When Data May Be Shared
Information may be provided to vendors that help host, secure, analyze, advertise, or operate the site. Search queries pass to the partner that powers the selected search box. Analytics providers and ad networks may receive technical or cookie data. Information can also be disclosed when required by a valid legal order, to cooperate with law enforcement as legally required, to protect rights or safety, or in connection with a transfer of the site's business or assets. Personal information is not sold as an official inmate record.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Sunflower County Sheriff's Office, Mississippi agencies, courts, BOP, ICE, or private search services. Each destination controls its own collection, cookies, retention, and security. This Privacy Notice does not govern those sites. Review the destination's policy before submitting a name, identifier, contact detail, payment, or other information.
Data Security and Retention
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no internet transmission, server, or storage method can be guaranteed secure. Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for its operational, legal, security, or support purpose, subject to provider practices and applicable obligations. A visitor should not send sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for a general site question.
Privacy Choices and Rights
Depending on applicable law and location, a person may have rights to ask what personal information is held, request correction or deletion, or object to certain processing. Browser controls can limit cookies, and advertising providers may offer separate opt-out tools. A request can be routed through the Get in Touch page. Identity may need to be verified before a data request is completed, and legal exceptions may apply.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is not directed to anyone under 18 and does not knowingly seek personal information from minors. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal information, use the contact route so the matter can be reviewed and, where appropriate, removed.
Mississippi Public Records
This private site's data practices are separate from government disclosure duties under the Mississippi Public Records Act, Title 25, Chapter 61. Requests for a sheriff jail docket, MDOC discharge material, or a court record must go to the responsible public body. Data held by that office is governed by its statutes, retention rules, exemptions, and request procedure, not this Privacy Notice.
Changes to This Notice
This notice may be revised as site features, vendors, or legal duties change. An updated version becomes effective when it is posted here. Reviewing the page from time to time is the best way to see the current wording.
